- Build excellent, professional relationships with students based on trust and respect
- Get to know each student's circumstances, needs, strengths, and weaknesses
- Assist the Residence Manager in regular audits of the school policies and boarding handbook
- Implement the school's disciplinary policy and a fair system of sanctions within Boarding
- Ensure the physical and emotional safety and security of all students in Boarding
- Keep relevant and suitable records of students' welfare, emotional problems, achievements, and misconduct
- Develop excellent links with Pathway Managers, Academic Tutors, the Deputy Head, and other relevant School staff
- Liaise with parents, guardians, and admissions offices
- Arrange transport and support for students requiring health appointments
- Potentially administer emergency medication, over the counter medication, supervision of prescription only medication, etc. (training provided)
- Inform the school's designated safeguarding lead of any concerns regarding child protection or of safeguarding
- Ensure the safety of all boarders through appropriate discipline and emotional support
- Maintain boarders' physical and pastoral well-being
- Be able to prepare and serve simple snacks/meals when needed
- Follow day-to-day and overnight procedures as directed by the Residence Manager
- Undertake quality assurance practices, such as completing audits and conducting boarding surveys
- Support meeting the Health and Safety standards and requirements of the residence buildings
- Ensure students attend school on time and study effectively in the evenings and weekends
- Provide additional support to identified under-performing students outside normal school hours
- Show an active interest in students' university ambitions and encourage co-curricular pursuits
- Support the running and delivery of the Clubs and Activities program and contribute to the running of a new House system
- Contribute to the marketing of EF Academy life via social media and regular boarding bulletins
- Attend all whole-school meetings as directed and assist with campus tours and special requests
- Be willing to undertake any related task reasonably requested by the Residence Manager or senior leader
- Possess an Enhanced DBS status, which will be arranged by the school for the successful candidate.
- Able to provide evidence of having the right to live and work in the UK
- Commit to the all-round ethos of an international boarding-school environment, with an emphasis on customer satisfaction; willing to work hard with energy and enthusiasm
- Provide evidence of working in a pastoral position within a boarding school
- Display a real interest in pastoral care and be prepared to undertake relevant CPD
- Evidence a commitment to boarding school life
- Demonstrate excellent organisational skills
- Show a responsible attitude to work
- Provide evidence of the desire to implement excellence within boarding
- Show stamina and determination
- Work to deadlines
- Show they have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a talent for building effective professional relationships
