International Meetings and Convention Manager 100%

Main Job Responsibilities

In this position, you will play an important role in the Professional Education Department. You will lead our company's international meetings and events strategy and play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our meeting and event initiatives, aligning them with organizational goals and maximizing their impact. You will oversee the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of our company’s relevant international meetings and events.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Senior Manager Global Professional Education
  • Develop and implement comprehensive event strategies aligned with the company’s objectives
  • Develop and manage meeting budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial guidelines 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales, medical affairs, and product teams, to align event objectives with overall business goals. This position will collaborate with internal stakeholders to define meeting objectives, agendas, and content 
  • Select and manage external vendors, including event venues, catering services, audiovisual suppliers, and other event-related vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring deliverables meet quality standards including purchase orders and payments for all related activities. 
  • Ensure all events comply with relevant industry regulations, company policies, and HCP Interaction standards 
  • Oversee on-site event management, including staffing, registration, and troubleshooting issues that may arise 
  • Evaluate meeting effectiveness by conducting post-event evaluations to assess the success of events based on defined metrics, making recommendations for improvement. 
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in event management, incorporating innovative ideas to enhance the attendee experience and achieve business objectives. 
  • Up to 25% travel required
  • Position located in Brügg, Switzerland, remote work possible.

Your Qualifications & Skills

  • Completed administrative/commercial education or Baccalaureate focused on Business, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or related field
  • Proven experience (5-10 years) in meetings and event management, preferably in the healthcare or medical device industry
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for medical meetings and events preferred
  • Proficiency in event management software and tools, such as Cvent or similar platforms
  • Excellent skills in required support of presentations, PowerPoint, video playback etc.
  • Excellent English (written and spoken), good German, French or Spanish desired
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong and highly motivated team worker with the ability to work under pressure
