Legal & Compliance Manager Digital Law - 80% (ID1538)
Short Description

As Legal & Compliance Manager Digital Law, you will have the opportunity to contribute in a vital role to AO's global activities and to develop related processes and policies sustainably further. You will be part of an engaged legal team of 3 colleagues and report directly to the General Counsel/Head of Legal & Compliance. This newly created position can be developed into a 100% role.

Main Responsibilities

The Legal & Compliance Manager Digital Law provides specialized legal support and guidance in the fields of Corporate, IT, Digitalization, and Data Privacy Law. She/he is responsible for advising on matters related to IT contracts, data protection, cybersecurity, data governance and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Legal & Compliance Manager Digital Law will work closely with internal stakeholders to mitigate risks and ensure that all-related legal aspects of the business are managed efficiently. The role comprises of operational support as well as of strategic and conceptual work related to Digital Law.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise and support in IT related contract negotiations
  • Advise and support in global R&D projects
  • Draft, update and maintain policies and procedures related to Digital Law
  • Provide guidance on data protection laws incl. Human Research Laws, ensuring compliance in the handling and processing of personal data
  • Advise on legal issues related to Information Governance, including incident response, data breaches, and support for cyber risk management
  • Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant IT/Digital laws and regulations
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with IT/Digital operations, working with cross-functional teams to implement best practices
  • Training & Education: Draft, implement and provide /manage legal training to internal clients on relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies
  • Take responsibility as the lead counsel in different business cases
Main Requirements
  • LLM or adequate degree from an accredited law school (Swiss or EU qualification)
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in an in-house role or in a law firm with focus on Digital Law matters, data protection management, data governance management
  • Strong understanding of IT and data governance
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills as well as strong client and solution orientation
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Legal expertise and pragmatism
  • Fluency in English and German is required
  • The role is based in Davos. Work spaces are available at AO Offices in Davos and Zizers
  • Hybrid working model available

Preferred Skills:

  • Demonstrated qualifications in digital/IT/data privacy/information governance related law
  • Enthusiasm to constantly learn and apply new knowledge in these fields
  • Background in MedTech and/or medical research is a strong plus
