As an Application Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the implementation, customization, and maintenance of our corporate Applications software solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, design and develop customizations, and provide ongoing support to ensure optimal system performance. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Your Responsibilities:
- Engage with IT internal stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring a thorough understanding of the needed application functionality. Translate these requirements into application specifications.
- Customize and configure applications to meet business needs.
- Write clear and detailed specifications for enhancing applications to fill any functional gaps identified during the analysis phase. Ensure specifications align with user needs and overall project objectives.
- Conduct regular maintenance and updates to improve application functionality, performance, and security. Prioritize bug fixes, performance enhancements, and security patches to ensure high application reliability and user satisfaction.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including the application's design, configuration, development process, and user guides. Ensure documentation is accessible and understandable to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Work independently on various key tasks, demonstrating the ability to manage responsibilities while delivering results effectively.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in IT application engineering or IT application development.
- Experience with database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)
- Track record of success in application engineering, including significant experience with application configuration, deployment, and maintenance in one of the following areas: Vendor Invoice Management, Document Management Systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate user needs into effective application solutions.
- Excellent documentation skills, capable of creating clear and comprehensive guides and specifications.
- A solid understanding of application security principles, data protection laws, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in English, knowledge of German, French or Italian is an advantage.
- ITIL Certification would be a plus
