Head of Pricing & Performance - Flow Business (Group), 80-100%, Maternity Cover, November 24- Oct 25
What you will do
- Support market-leading Global Pricing Practices via appropriate Compliance/Governance frameworks
- Support implementation, and review Annual Retail Pricing Self-Assessment within the Pricing Hub. Utilise to assess global capabilities/gaps/actions etc.
- Support active conversations with the regions on annual PQIPs (Pricing Quality Improvement Plans).
- Coordinate requirements from regulatory initiatives such as AI, data privacy, treating customers fairly, differential pricing into the Retail pricing governance
- Review and reinforce minimum standards for Retail Pricing and Performance monitoring. In particular using feedback loop from RPE to suggest updates to Retail Pricing governance
- Provide Best Practice/Thought Leadership to the Pricing Community via How To/Thematic Reviews
- Lead global ZRC/LRW review. Supporting implementation in 2025.
- Support/provide Retail Portfolio Optimisation training
- Review Pricing & Portfolio Management best practice and ensure ZUG and How Tos are fit for purpose for Retail
- Global Performance Tracking / Portfolio Steering
- Support Global Retail CUP process on an annual basis
- Provide consolidated insight on the overall strategic direction of portfolios to Group UW management / Finance (CI, Group) and highlight areas of concern (LoB specific) for consideration in the Financial Plan
- Retail Performance Reviews @ Group level: Monitor, analyse and communicate performance of Retail business quarterly performance reviewed.
- Support Claims and Underwriting collaboration and alignment, in particular for Motor.
- Ensure market leading Pricing Technology, Processes & Data Capabilities
- Support review and implementation of pricing tools to increase efficiency of model updates e.g. POC testing WTW suite vs other proprietary software
- Support Retail Pricing Capabilities/Training including Data Science Training, WTW training, wider pricing training
- Support Retail Pricing Excellence initiative, feedback to Group training, best practice and governance frameworks
- Promote the use of Data Science Environment within the Retail Community
- Governance/Assurance: Review MGA ZUG requirements and How To documents, ensuring fit for purpose. Support any above country MGA Assurance Reviews (Spot Checks, TURs).
- MGA Data Management: Support development of efficient processes to support MGA management, in particular the implementation of MGA Global data project (Davies) and approval of alternative solutions for BUs with material DAAs.
- Best Practice/Training: Provide training as necessary to the Global MGA community
Additional Information
Preferred work location is Zurich based but remote working from other Business Units without re-location may be possible. Occasional travel would be expected to Zurich HQ
What you will bring
As the Head of Pricing & Performance – Flow Business your skills and qualifications will include:
- Qualified Actuary, with a degree in a relevant field (e.g. Actuarial Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics). Consideration will be given to candidates with an analytics & quantitative background whom have not completed an actuarial qualification, subject to relevant experience and competencies.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in related Actuarial general insurance role (Pricing, Reserving, Capital). Previous Retail Pricing experience preferred.
- Highly motivated, demonstrating initiative and ability to work both independently and in a team. Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead Global Pricing/Performance projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across multiple Regions and Business Units.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholder requirements and provide pragmatic solutions.
- Strong analytical skills, with knowledge of relevant software, pricing processes and actuarial best practices.
