PhD Student in neutron reference fields for dosimetry and radiation protection
- Conduct measurements using various neutron detection techniques to characterize the neutron fields produced by radionuclide sources in the PSI Calibration Laboratory
- Use Monte Carlo simulations to model the neutron fields and to develop new thermal neutron calibration facility
- Develop a method to evaluate the spatial and energy distribution of direct and backscattered neutrons and validate it using known neutron spectra from neutron spectrometric measurements and simulations
- Present results at the conferences and publish in scientific journals
- Master’s degree in physics, nuclear engineering or environmental sciences
- Hands-on experience preferably with neutron detection techniques
- Experience with Monte-Carlo Simulation of advantage
- Good command of the English language
