Single cell encapsulation and high throughput screening technologies

Unique opportunity for a position for scientific collaborator in an industrial setting.

Position description

We are currently looking for a highly motivated scientific collaborator (m/w/x) that is interested in the development and application of methods for high throughput screening of microbial cells for industrial application. The position is part of the group of Prof. Nils Hanik, at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland Valais, Institute of Life Science in Sion.

Your profile

• PhD degree in biotechnology, molecular biology or equivalent (MSc with three years of experience in a relevant field)
• Experience with recombinant expression in microbial cells and strain characterization with fluorescence flow cytometry (FFC)
• Knowledge of microfluidic based microencapsulation techniques will be an added advantage
• Ready to take project leadership
• Strong communication skills in English
• Independent working style and is motivated to work in an interdisciplinary team between academia and industry. The successful candidate enjoys collaborating with scientists and engineers outside of their discipline
