Product Manager Growth and Engagement - Digital Marketplace Automotive (f|m|d) (80-100%) - Zurich - Hybrid Work
Welcome to SMG Swiss Marketplace Group AG
We are a pioneering network of online marketplaces and a leading European digital company that simplifies people's lives with forward-looking products.
Join us in this exciting role as Product Manager for Automotive Growth & Engagement. You will oversee the entire product lifecycle for this portfolio, focusing on delivering innovative solutions that serve both Professional Sellers (dealerships) and Buyers in the automotive market. Your work will directly shape how these users interact with our products, contributing to enhanced customer experiences and driving business growth.
About the Role
Our AutoScout24 and MotoScout24 brands are two of the leading Swiss marketplaces for listing and searching motor vehicles, reaching thousands of users daily. In this role, you will expand our automotive product portfolio by developing and managing solutions that support buyers throughout their journey—from early-stage education on emerging vehicle technologies, such as electric vehicles, to end-stage financing, insurance, and leasing options that simplify the purchasing process.
You’ll work cross-functionally to create and optimize these services, collaborating with stakeholders to drive revenue growth and increase adoption of our financial and educational resources. This is a career-defining opportunity for someone passionate about the intersection of automotive, fintech, and digital innovation, ready to make a meaningful impact on how consumers and professional sellers engage with vehicle technology and financial solutions.
What you will be doing
Your primary responsibility is to lead a cross-functional scrum team to deliver products that are viable, valuable, usable, and feasible. Key responsibilities include:
- Shape the vision, strategy, and KPIs for the Finance, Insurance, and Leasing portfolio, aligning product decisions with business goals to drive revenue and profitability.
- Manage the product roadmap and lifecycle: Leverage market trends, product metrics, and international benchmarks to prioritize impactful projects and ensure the team is focused on high-value initiatives.
- Act as a bridge between stakeholders including business, technical teams, and customers to integrate diverse perspectives into product development.
- Understand customer needs through research and direct interaction with buyers and sellers, identifying early-stage informational gaps as well as practical requirements in later stages, such as financing, insurance, and leasing options.
- Collaborate with your team to envision and deliver innovative solutions that enhance the customer experience, making financing and insurance seamless.
- Evaluate product success using both quantitative and qualitative metrics, including Beta testing and post-launch reviews, to ensure solutions meet customer needs and drive business results.
- Maintain product quality by taking ownership of data accuracy, process efficiency, and delivering high standards in each release.
- Fluency in German and English is a mandatory requirement.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, or related fields.
- 3-5+ years of experience as a Product Manager, with a proven record of launching impactful financial or insurance products, ideally in automotive, fintech, or similar industries.
- Expertise in mobile app and/or web platform product development, ideally within a marketplace setting.
- Strong experience working with cross-functional teams (UX/UI designers, engineers, finance/legal teams) and managing distributed teams.
- Proficiency in analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data to inform product decisions. Familiarity with A/B testing and data-driven product management is a plus.
- Ability to clearly communicate product decisions and the rationale behind them, comfortable making decisions independently while supporting team decision-making.
- Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships across teams and hierarchies.
- Ownership mentality: Eager to take accountability for delivering business and product outcomes by collaborating with stakeholders.
- Understanding of legal and regulatory considerations surrounding automotive financing and insurance is a plus.
