As the Software Engineering Practices Lead, you will be at the forefront of ensuring high-quality software development. You will implement and maintain coding standards, guide the adoption of methodologies, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Your main responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain guidance coding standards, software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, DevOps), and best practices to ensure high-quality software development and consistency across projects.
- Conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with established standards and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Organize and lead training sessions, workshops, and seminars for software developers on the latest development methodologies, technologies, and best practices.
- Act as a technical expert, providing guidance and support.
- Collaborate with IT leadership to align development practices with strategic objectives.
- Create and manage a centralized repository of software development resources, including documentation, coding guidelines, and toolsets, accessible to all development staff.
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented practices and report on their impact.
- Normalize the evaluation and integration of new technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance development processes and product innovation.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and innovation and provides leadership to Alpiq software developers via matrix reporting structure
Your profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
- Over 5 years of experience in software development with a comprehensive understanding of coding standards, development methodologies, and best practices.
- AWS Certification (Solution Architect, DevOps) or proven equivalent knowledge is a must.
- Certifications in Scrum, Agile, or similar methodologies are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean IT is an asset.
- Proven ability to enforce software development standards and practices.
- Expertise in multiple programming languages, development frameworks, and tools.
- Proven track record in facilitating the adoption of new technologies and practices within a development team.
- Experience with software quality assurance and CI/CD processes.
- Collaborative and able to influence change across teams.
- Fluent in English.
