PhD Student for Synchrotron Diagnostics
- You will carry out simulations and experimentally compare various diagnostics for beam profile measurements, using both visible light and X-rays
- You will measure the beam profiles for novel accelerator configurations and carry out experiments at the SLS 2.0 and/or other synchrotron facilities
- You will enroll in the PhD program at EPFL, under the supervision of Prof. Dr Mike Seidel
- You will present your work at international workshops and conferences
- You hold a Master’s degree in physics or a related field
- You are open minded, communicative, have a strong team spirit, and you enjoy working in international environment
- You have programming skills in python, MATLAB or other programming languages
- You are interested in experimental, hands-on work in a state-of-the-art accelerator
