Global Category Manager IT
Position purpose:
This position exists to support management of the Global category DIT. This role has the following main dimensions:
- Manage procurement operations of HQ for respective scope
- Coordinate a functional network of Regional/Cluster Category Managers (full or part time activities)
- Define Global category strategies/guidelines and coordinate strategic sourcing activities for set category
- Ensure business connectivity for set category and scope
- Manage Global suppliers and develop SRM for selected category
- Ensure Global alignment and compliance with strategies for selected category
- Role model in compliance and ethics.
What will you do – responsibilities:
- Procurement Strategy
Global Category Manager is responsible for procurement activities for the appointed business categories at Global level. Ensures effective supplier relationship management throughout the supply chain and sustainability of supply. Defines Global category strategies/guidelines and coordinate strategic sourcing activities for set category. Supports the design and implementation of the appropriate strategies worldwide, works in close collaboration with Regional/Local Procurement Leads to create & manage cross functional suppliers' lists in the most efficient & effective manner. Creates Category/sub-Category business plans.
- Suppliers' Management
Supports Category Lead in identifying and managing Global suppliers' pool and develop SRM for selected category. Negotiates high value contracts and ensures optimum, sustainable supply conditions. Recommends timely strategic decisions to prevent procurement inefficiencies. Demonstrates ability to challenge status quo, runs projects that will add value to both Procurement and business functions. Provides necessary support to regional or local procurement teams for implementation. Contributes in building Innovation & Sustainability strategy with Global suppliers and promotes any ideas that could represent a competitive advantage for JTI.
- KPIs & Targets
Ensures appropriate Demand Management process is in place when required. Achieves set Procurement negotiation targets and KPIs. Delivers Savings targets. Recommends strategic sourcing plan/decisions. Leads and /or supports supplier bidding processes in close cooperation with respective business partners to ensure best combination of quality, cost and service parameters / conditions for products and services are attained. Ensures strategy implementation and monitors performance and potential deviation. Takes corrective action(s) when required.
- Business Partnership
Ensures business connectivity for set category and scope. Focuses on demonstrating value of Business Partnership, by developing a customer-oriented approach. Aligns strategy with key business partners and ensures it meets Business' priorities. Establishes alignment and effective communication among procurement organization, business partners and suppliers. Takes preventive actions to avoid supply issues and resolves problems in due time. Assumes responsibilities for additional projects, tasks as assigned by his/her superior and shows professionalism in all aspects of work Ensure procurement operations are managed in line with the agreed strategy and objectives.
- Market Intelligence
Provides and shares Category intelligence, identifies trends and opportunities. Applies best practices in procurement process management by utilizing latest models and takes necessary actions for areas of improvement. Conducts risk assessment of supply, builds contingency plans, finds alternative ideas, solutions in securing best conditions for the company including extensive market research and proactive sourcing of innovative suppliers.

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar environment in a multinational company
