What’s the role?
The Technical Supervisor is responsible for supervising the execution of technical services for their assigned field service personnel to include: Installation, maintenance, repair of ZEISS systems, and other related services. The Technical Supervisor is accountable for the performance of assigned field service personnel to ensure proper productivity, efficiency, and quality of services are rendered to create a high level of customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include: In field reviewing machine acceptance protocols hours, operating within budgets, training, coaching and development of Field Service Technicians, promotion of Field Service Excellence, supporting customers on a technical basis, and assisting the Regional Service Manager as needed.

Here’s what you’ll do:
- Understand, track and resolve customer issues.
- Interact and collaborate with process partners effectively in an effort to maximize customer satisfaction, and handle technical escalations.
- Perform technical and process coaching of Field Service Technicians.
- Promote individual development of Field Service Technicians to include regular, in person, coaching sessions.
- Working with other departments/customers on technician feedback Distributor field technician evaluation/discussion
- Travel requirement is 80-100% within the service area, including international travel as needed.

Do you qualify?
- Minimum, High School graduate, completed GED or equivalent
- Or, Tech School, associate, or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as, Electronics, Industrial Mechanics and the like
- Or, Training and experience from a Military Technical School.
- Prior experience working with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment
- Microsoft operating system knowledge is required.
- Capable of unassisted physical lift of one article weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Able and willing to work minimum of 50 hours per work week. Regular + OT
- Ability to work in an industrial production shop floor environment.
- Valid Driver License required.
- Excellent communication and customer service aptitude
Nice to haves:
- Previous experience installing and troubleshooting industrial electronics, machines, or computer systems.
- Previous CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) installation and troubleshooting experience is strongly preferred however not required.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.

Working Conditions and Special Demands: (Describe physical requirements such as lifting requirements and travel requirements, etc.) While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee will be required to travel 60-80% of the time performing customer and technician visits. In depth analysis of the technical skills of assigned personnel to assess areas of opportunity for coaching and driving high performance. Ability to lift between 50 and 75 pounds unassisted. Environmental factors may include working in temperature ranges of 50 – 100 degrees F. Occasional dirty environments will be encountered. Driving and traveling in all weather conditions can apply.
