Description
We are seeking an experienced Production Support Engineer for our client to handle production issues following the migration from RHEL7 to RHEL8. This role requires a highly skilled individual with expertise in Linux systems, incident troubleshooting, and maintaining high availability in a high-stakes environment. A Linux/DevOps Engineer with extensive experience in the integration, deployment, and operation of native Linux applications. ensuring high availability in a production environment. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in RHEL8, Ansible, Jenkins, Git, and various GNU-tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert support for production issues in a stock exchange environment post-migration from RHEL7 to RHEL8
- Engineer solutions using bash and other GNU-tools
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents in a timely manner to ensure minimal downtime and impact on trading activities
- Maintain and optimize system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to identify, analyze, and resolve complex issues
- Manage system configurations, patches, and upgrades to ensure compliance and security
- Document incidents, solutions, and best practices to improve future incident response
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems
- Continuously monitor system health and performance, implementing proactive measures to prevent issues
- Support the IT Application Manager by implementing and maintaining Ansible playbooks and managing OpenShift environments
- Contribute to the automation of infrastructure tasks and improvements in operational efficiency
Job requirements:
- Strong background in system migrations, especially from RHEL7 to RHEL8
- Proven experience in Linux/DevOps engineering
- Extensive knowledge of incident troubleshooting in production environments
- Proficiency in Ansible, Jenkins, Git, and bash scripting
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Icinga, or similar
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with stock exchange operations or similar high-stakes environments is a plus
- Certification Red Hat Enterprise Linux Version 8 (RHEL8)
