Supply Chain Planning Manager – Basel

We are actively seeking a Supply Chain Planning Manager for one of our global pharma clients based in Basel.

This position will also require someone who has experience in global supply chain strategy, more specifically, Demand and Supply Planning strategy.
Overall Objective
- Manage global demand and supply planning for designated products.
- Ensure seamless and cost-effective primary supply to affiliates and distributors.
Main Tasks
- Collect and challenge sales forecasts (EU) and net requirements (affiliates outside EU & distributors).
- Oversee procurement and capacity planning with external suppliers for finished products, drug products, and APIs.
- Handle operational purchase order management (order placement, follow-up, prioritization).
- Manage production transfers (full or partial) between current and future suppliers.
- Optimize SKU portfolio (Multi-Country SKUs) and implementation.
- Coordinate artwork changes with external artwork management suppliers.
- Manage the supply of the global hub warehouse with necessary replenishments.
- Support the Global Head of Supply Chain in establishing global S&OP/IBP processes.
- Monitor and manage KPIs (out-of-stocks, OTIF, costs of supply, inventory levels, launches/production transfers on time).
Specific Competences and Skills
- University degree in Supply Chain or related functions.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role with increasing independence, preferably in the pharmaceutical/consumer health business.
- Strong analytical thinking abilities.
- Self-starter capable of working independently and taking responsibility in a newly created supply chain.
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to switch between operational and conceptual tasks.
- Ability to work in remote teams.
- Proficiency in English (mandatory); French & German (beneficial).
- Experience with SAP S4/Hana (MM, SD, Planning) and MS Excel (advanced knowledge in creating ad hoc and ongoing analysis/data management tools).
- Familiarity with Integrated Business Planning (IBP).
Main Interactions
- Collaborate with markets and marketing teams (forecasting, supply).
- Engage with external suppliers of (semi-) finished products (supply, capacity planning, transfers).
- Coordinate with regulatory teams (marketing authorization transfers, artwork changes).
- Liaise with QA/QC teams (GxP setup, releases).
- Interact with CS/Logistics and corporate supply chain functions.
- Manage transport providers (shipments supplier to hub).
