Solar Engineer/ Electrician
As a Solar Engineer/Electrician specializing in both photovoltaic (PV) and thermal systems, you will play a key role in designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar energy systems. This position involves working both indoors and outdoors, on various residential, commercial, and industrial projects. You will help drive the transition to sustainable energy by ensuring solar systems are safe, efficient, and compliant with industry standards.
Whether on rooftops, open fields, or indoors, your work will contribute to clean energy generation and environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and Maintenance:
- Install and maintain PV solar panels, thermal solar systems, and other associated electrical components.
- Ensure proper wiring, grounding, and system connections for optimal performance.
- Conduct system performance testing and troubleshooting of solar arrays, inverters, and other electrical components.
- System Design and Layout:
- Collaborate with project teams to design and implement PV and thermal systems for various applications.
- Interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and specifications for accurate system integration.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure that all installations are compliant with local electrical and building codes.
- Conduct inspections and maintenance following safety standards.
- Prepare to become a qualified Scope 12 inspector. If you do not yet have this qualification, training will be provided at no cost to you.
- Field Work & Problem-Solving:
- Conduct site assessments to evaluate the feasibility of solar installations.
- Identify issues and perform repairs to maintain the efficiency and safety of the solar systems.
- Customer Service:
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing guidance on system operation and performance.
- Offer professional advice on energy efficiency and long-term system care.
- Travel & Flexibility:
- Be prepared to travel between project sites.
- Work both indoors and outdoors, sometimes at significant heights.
Qualifications & Skills:
- A completed MBO+ education in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in electrical systems, wiring, and renewable energy technologies.
- Familiarity with PV and solar thermal systems is highly desirable.
- Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must have two right hands (or excellent practical skills) for hands-on tasks.
- A proactive attitude toward problem-solving and system optimization.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring safety and efficiency.
