Senior IT Network Engineer (m/w)

Your tasks:
Develop and implement network strategies aligned with business and IT infrastructure goals.
Manage the network operations budget and vendor contracts efficiently.
Handle network tasks, including configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting (Cisco/Fortinet).
Co-lead the network area, promoting innovation and continuous improvement.
Ensure high availability and security of network services using best practices.
Oversee complex network projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery, e.g. the globalization and harmonization of the network infrastructure.
Collaborate with IT and other teams to support operational objectives.
Implement and maintain disaster recovery plans for network continuity.
Implement and maintain monitoring tools to optimize network performance and address issues.
Perform capacity planning to meet current and future network demands.
Document network configurations, processes and changes for team transparency and continuity.
Your profile:
10+ years of experience in network operations, design and network security.
Demonstrated expertise in managing and operating mid/large-scale networks, including experience with virtual firewalls, cloud, and WLAN technologies.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing both internal teams and external vendors.
Proven ability to manage budgets and negotiate contracts effectively.
Solid understanding of project management methodologies, with a preference for those experienced in Agile and Scrum.
CCNA/CCNP or other Cloud certification preferable.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
Fluent in English and German.
