QC Scientist - Biochemistry Testing Coordinator
The Opportunity
CSL Behring is a world class manufacturer of blood plasma proteins which are used to treat human immune deficiencies and severe autoimmune diseases.
We are looking for a QC Scientist to join the QC Biochemistry group. You will support the Biochemistry department by providing day to day co-ordination of lab activities, scheduling of testing within your team and QC checking of generated results. In this predominantly non-lab bench role, you will work with external vendors and internal teams to support the objectives of the department.
This is a permanent, full time opportunity based at our Broadmeadows site.
The Role
Reporting to the Team Leader QC Biochemistry, you will:
- Schedule and co-ordinate laboratory testing and activities to meet manufacturing demands
- Support the laboratory by ensuring all required documents, equipment, standards, controls and critical reagents are available, up to date and in a ready to use state
- Track and plan for expiry/calibration dates of equipment, standards and controls
- Track and manage stock of critical testing materials and laboratory resources
- Liaise with other CSL departments and external vendors to acquire the resources or services to ensure ongoing testing capability
- Complete laboratory investigations
Your skills and experience
To be considered for this role, you have:
- An undergraduate degree in science (chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology or similar)
- 3+ years' experience in a GXP or similar highly regulated environment;
- Experience in laboratory co-ordination role
- Experience in a role requiring QC checking, approval of results and regular use of LIMS
- Experience managing laboratory testing materials and other laboratory resources
- Organisational and communication skills
