International Sales Engineer – Aerospace Sector
Are you an experienced sales engineer with a passion for space and aerospace technologies? Our client, a pioneering aerospace SME based in the Occitanie region of France, is seeking a talented Sales Engineer to spearhead their newly established business unit focused on payload transportation.
About the Role:
Our client is expanding their operations beyond their existing business-to-consumer stratosphere journey services into the emerging field of payload transportation. This new business unit is in its early stages, having just begun commercial activities. Your primary role will be to develop and drive the sales of payload transportation services to a global clientele, including space and aerospace enterprises.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop Commercial Strategies: Create and implement a strategic commercial action plan for the new payload transportation business unit. Focus on identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in both the European and international markets.
International Prospecting: Launch and manage prospecting efforts across various countries, including Europe, Asia, and the US. Develop direct sales, respond to tenders, and build a network of industry contacts.
Client Engagement: Serve as the primary contact for clients and influencers in the space and aerospace sectors. Use your technical knowledge and extensive network to identify and secure new business opportunities.
Tender Management: Work with internal technical teams to manage responses to calls for tenders. Utilize your negotiation skills to secure contracts and letters of intent from potential clients.
Market Development: Enhance the brand’s visibility through targeted marketing efforts and participation in relevant trade shows. Provide market and product analyses to the Group level.
Project Oversight: Ensure smooth project progress and high client satisfaction by maintaining regular contact and collaboration with clients and technical teams.
Profile Sought:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a technical and international business development role, preferably within the aerospace or space sectors. Experience with payload transportation or similar technologies is highly desirable.
Technical Acumen: Strong technical background to effectively communicate with engineers and understand complex aerospace systems. Familiarity with international commercial law is essential.
International Skills: Proven ability to operate in global markets, with a willingness to travel extensively and relocate to France for the initial period of the role.
Sales Expertise: Demonstrated success in prospecting and securing new business. Ability to work in a nascent market with a focus on building relationships and generating interest.
Relocation Requirement: Initially based in Toulouse, France, for the first 3 months to gain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s operations and processes before transitioning to international travel.
