Our Product Compliance Services team evaluates potentially important policies and regulations, supports our development organization in the evaluation of materials, substances, and products, and provides the necessary data foundations.
To strengthen our innovative Product Compliance Services team at the Heerbrugg location, we are looking for a qualified, dedicated, and conscientious individual to join us as a Material Expert. Become part of our team and help shape the future of material compliance on a global scale!
- Ensuring substance and material compliance during the introduction of new materials and base substances.
- Supporting the evaluation/analysis of materials to achieve our environmental goals.
- Maintaining and developing the material and substance database, ensuring regulatory requirements are met to calculate and document the "Environmental Product Footprint".
- Evaluating existing materials (steel, aluminum, brass, plastics, optical glasses, etc.), ensuring compliance requirements are met, and supporting the replacement of potentially critical materials.
- Monitoring and analyzing material-specific regulatory requirements (focus on REACH, RoHS, TSCA, Conflict Minerals, etc.) and assessing their impact on our existing and new products.
- Collaborating on the implementation of new/changed regulatory requirements within our PLM system landscape.
- Supporting and advising our R&D divisions in the introduction of new or changes to existing materials and base substances, with a focus on substance and environmental compliance.
- Preparing dossiers and reports regarding the ingredients and composition of our products for our global customers and partners.
- Supporting our Lifecycle Assessment teams in data preparation and reporting.
- Analyzing and optimizing internal workflows, processes, and their documentation
- You have a solid technical education in optics, mechanics, or electrical engineering – whether through an apprenticeship with work experience, further training, or a degree from a technical college or university.
- You have a strong affinity for and/or a high level of environmental awareness, evident in your daily actions.
- You are well-versed in regulatory requirements and have practical experience in their application.
- Education in chemistry or materials science is a plus.
- You are familiar with the application of PLM/PDM systems
- Knowledge in the area of lifecycle assessments of products is advantageous.
- You possess both mediation and assertiveness skills.
- Teamwork, responsibility, and the ability to work independently are second nature to you.
- You excel in communication skills in both German and English.
