Due to retirement, we are looking for a successor to our long-standing employee at our headquarters in Langenthal in our "Process Engineering" team 

Project Manager R&D

You will work in a global team of process engineers and report directly to the global process-engineering manager. In your role you will set impulses in the development process, continuously optimize, and refine the plant processes. You will make sure that the developed and produced plant technologies meet local standards and customer requirements while still following our Ammann product quality and philosophy.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Support the engineering department in laying out and designing of asphalt and concrete plants
  • Responsibility for the layout of our basic plant processes
  • Run your own development projects for new plant technologies
  • Take the lead during commissioning of pilot plants and new systems and perform tests and trials
  • You are the responsible engineer for measuring technology
  • Act as the interface between engineering, service and sales department
  • Adapt our plant technology to specific markets and customer needs while complying with environmental and efficiency standards
  • Support "After Sales" in the event of claims and trouble-shooting: in-house and on site
  • Technology monitoring: Studying technical literature and trade journals for the latest development trends
  • Patent management: Conducting patent searches, filing new patent applications in collaboration with patent attorneys, managing and adapting the existing patent portfolio, monitoring new patents in relevant technologies, developing the patent strategy with management
  • Knowledge management: Checking the transfer of knowledge and relevant knowledge, preserving knowledge, preparing regular knowledge reports

Qualifications, Knowledge & Job Skills:

  • MSc or BSc in mechanical engineering, mining, or a similar discipline
  • Willingness to travel (local and overseas) to visit customers, congresses and on-site work
  • Proficient user of MS Office software. CAD and software for data acquisition is advantageous
  • Independent and customer oriented work attitude
  • Good communicator and presenter, proficient in spoken and written English; any additional language is a plus
  • Due to working in heights - no acrophobia
  • Open and team-oriented attitude
  • And finally - a sense of good humor is very much appreciated
