Production Support Engineer
On the behalf of our client based in financial services, we are currently looking for an experienced Production Support Engineer to join our team and handle production issues for our stock exchange operations following the migration from RHEL7 to RHEL8. This is a 6-7 months contract based in Zurich. Ideal start date: as soon as possible
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in RHEL8, Ansible, Jenkins, Git, and various GNU-tools.
Responsibilities :
o Provide expert support for production issues in a stock exchange environment post-migration from RHEL7 to RHEL8.
o Engineer solutions using bash and other GNU-tools.
o Troubleshoot and resolve incidents in a timely manner to ensure minimal downtime and impact on trading activities.
o Maintain and optimize system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
o Collaborate with development and operations teams to identify, analyze, and resolve complex issues.
o Manage system configurations, patches, and upgrades to ensure compliance and security.
o Document incidents, solutions, and best practices to improve future incident response.
o Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems.
o Continuously monitor system health and performance, implementing proactive measures to prevent issues.
o Support the IT Application Manager by implementing and maintaining Ansible playbooks and managing OpenShift environments.
o Contribute to the automation of infrastructure tasks and improvements in operational efficiency.
Qualifications :
Qualifications:
o Strong background in system migrations, especially from RHEL7 to RHEL8.
o Proven experience in Linux/DevOps engineering
o Extensive knowledge of incident troubleshooting in production environments.
o Proficiency in Ansible, Jenkins, Git, and bash scripting.
o Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Icinga, or similar.
o Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
o Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
o Familiarity with stock exchange operations or similar high-stakes environments is a plus.
