Main activities and responsibilities
  • Standard cost accounting: set and maintain the group cost accounting and reporting principles in line with the Head of Group Controlling and the Head of Global Project Management expectations, design the tools and roll them out across the sites, providing assistance and user guidelines.
  • Coordinate the budget and forecast exercises by ensuring the completion of different group tools, analyze and challenge the output such as hourly rates and overhead factors, sales, production plan, resources utilization and profitability figures per product / project. Ensure general alignment between budgeted sales, production planning and resources. Assist the Head of Group Controlling for the group budget financial package and presentation.
  • Monthly site performance reporting: maintain the group monthly performance tool, ensure the sites report the requested KPIs in a timely manner and as per group instructions. Assist the sites in improving their internal controlling process, highlight and proactively communicate on major deviations.
  • Project and manufacturing controlling: maintain global project controlling tools (forecast calculation, physical progress and Earned Value Management). Establish and implement global manufacturing controlling tools to monitor the COGS through product costing analysis. Highlight and proactively communicate of major deviations.
  • Cost estimate: support Marketing & Sales for the NPI process in assisting the sites to use the group quotation tool and develop it further to match the evolving requirements. Develop the feedback process to generate the necessary ratios for quotation.
  • CAPEX controlling: maintain global CAPEX cost controlling tool to monitor the costs of the major CAPEX projects. Maintain and update the CAPEX site report as required for the forecast and budget exercises. Responsible for the monthly site CAPEX reports.
  • Support the Head of Group Controlling in the monthly group financial report if needed, the management with ad-hoc business case studies / analysis for the group development. Assist the management in defining cost saving opportunities.
Your Profile
  • Experience and education in Finance or Controlling with a minimum of 5 years of professional successful track record in manufacturing and project controlling including CAPEX; experienced in SAP and Microsoft Office applications (including Power BI)
  • Broad experience in CRO and CDMO or equivalent industries ideally in both segments Drug Product and Drug Substance
  • Act as a strong team player within an international and multi-cultural team, develop efficient and structured ways of working with team member
  • Able to deal with stressful situations and to translate project objectives into a work plan as well as entrepreneurial behavior, striving for results through taking ownership, being demanding and persistent as well as being solution focused and achievement-orientated
  • Excellent communication (both written and oral) skills in English, further language(s) a plus; willingness to travel on a regular basis.
