Medical Writer (temporary 12 months)

The Swiss Group for Clinical Cancer Research (www.sakk.ch) employs 70 coworkers at the SAKK Competence Center in Bern. We are a non-profit organization, conducting clinical trials in oncology since 1965.

We are seeking a medical writer in the field of oncology with excellent writing, editing, and research skills. You will be incorporated in the Clinical Science department to support our development team to secure funds to run meaningful clinical research.

Your tasks:

• Support the Chief Scientific Officer to secure the funding necessary to run the projects developed in our SAKK network. 
• Write and edit scientific documents such as lay abstracts, posters and lay presentations, but more importantly grant applications.
• Ensure that the documents comply with the regulatory guidelines, ethical standards, and scientific principles.
• Collaborate with the study team, investigators, statisticians, and other experts to ensure the accuracy, quality, and consistency of the documents.
• Perform literature searches and reviews to support the development of study proposals and publications.
• Provide feedback and guidance to our clinical developers and researchers on their writing skills and document development. 
• Ensure the grant applications are delivered complete and on time to the grant agencies and foundations.
• Maintain and expand the listing of relevant funding sources.
• Support our medical liaison activities to connect with pharmaceutical companies susceptible to support our clinical activities.

Who you are:

• Medical or scientific degree (e.g. biology, biochemistry, or pharmacy)
• Experience in the development of clinical trials
• Experience in scientific writing (manuscript and grants)
• Customer-oriented mindset, combined with good networking skills
• Proactive, team oriented and resilient leader with assertiveness, self-motivation and focus on solutions
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, and German (alternatively French, third language is an asset).

This position could be converted into an open-ended contract at the end of the 12 months initial contract.
