Join TotalEnergies Renewables USA, LLC as a Manager, Project Development.This is a new addition to our team as we are strengthening our presence in renewable energies.
TotalEnergies is seeking a seasoned Project Development professional with experience supporting Community Solar projects from the earliest stages of development through to NPT. In this role, you will have primary responsibility for advancing community solar projects through key development milestones, including perfection of real estate rights and title, interconnection, permitting and entitlement and securing program capacity. You will collaborate closely with the Business Development, Engineering, Structured Finance and Legal teams to identify and resolve project issues and risks, while serving as the key commercially accountable individual for delivering awarded MW at required returns.
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Business Development and presents a unique opportunity for leadership and growth in a rapidly expanding community solar group at TotalEnergies. Preferred locations are Boston, New York, San Francisco, Houston or Austin but remote work is possible provided the candidate is willing to travel for internal meetings (in addition to external job travel requirements).
What You Will Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Environmental Sciences, or Economics
Minimum of three (3) years’ of experience in energy or related field
Minimum of 2 (2) years’ of project development experience, including managing projects at various stages of the development lifecycle
Experience in distributed and community solar program
Ability to understand legal documents and real estate contracts
Integrity, strong time management and prioritization capabilities, and a team-first attitude
Creative problem-solving, particularly in renewables transactions and project development, adept at resolving challenging commercial disagreements with professionalism and poise
Self-motivated, pay attention to detail, and strong analytical and organizational skills
Willingness to travel throughout the US (less than 50%)

Devise and execute on project-specific development plans and budgets, sequencing development activities and spend on interconnection, entitlement and engineering to advance project maturity while closing out risks
Advise land acquisition resources on greenfield targets and negotiations to ensure financeable lease/purchase options and site control agreements with landowners.
Manage interconnection processes, including direct engagement with utilities to secure positive project outcomes
Manage all real estate, environmental and technical diligence, and interpretation of results and resolution of issues to advance projects, including regular interface with internal and external engineering and subject matter experts
Secure discretionary permits for assigned projects
Manage community solar program and incentive applications for assigned projects
Advise project development analysts on modeling inputs and scenarios to ensure project financial viability at appropriate milestones
Lead internal project and investment review processes
