Laboratory assistant: Laboratory for Mucosal Immunology
The Laboratory for Mucosal Immunology focuses on understanding the crosstalk between the microbiota and the immune system. We apply this understanding to develop therapies and prophylaxis for diseases ranging from Salmonellosis to neonatal sepsis. The team consists of immunologists, microbiologists, molecular biologists and cellular biologists who closely collaborate to make fundamental progress across disciplines. We are integrated in the Institute for Microbiology and the department of Health Science and Technology at ETH Zürich - a leader in the development of novel health interventions with a strong emphasis on translation.
Our team is dedicated to developing vaccines that address critical health challenges. We have recently developed a platform technology for producing vaccines that prevent infections with Gram-negative pathogens that are increasingly resistant to antimicrobial therapy. This project will scale up production and test the efficacy of these next-generation vaccines.
Join our team as a Laboratory Assistant and play a vital role in the development of next-generation vaccines. As part of our dynamic team, you will be responsible for:
- Purification and characterization of vaccine components using in-house methods under the supervision of an experienced team
- Analyzing, interpretation and evaluation of data
- Reporting of experimental data in Iab meetings
We are seeking a motivated individual to start with us as soon as possible.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Completed training as a laboratory technician, or a Master’s or higher degree in health sciences, biology, biochemistry, or a related field
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
- Experience in microbiology and biochemistry
- Knowledge of FPLC and UPLC systems is a plus
