Information Security Analyst
Purpose of Role:
The Security Operations team acts as Information Security's frontline of defence, reacting swiftly to security events and ensuring rapid resolution of incidents. The role demands a solid grounding and understanding of Information Security, Cyber Security and Data Privacy, whereupon the successful candidate will obtain hands on experience operating as a key member of the Information Security team, focused on Security Operations and servicing, and addressing security subject matter in all areas of the global business.
Specific Responsibilities:
Maintain Controls
Ensure coverage and effectiveness of security controls.
Configure and manage security tools and software.
Conduct regular implementation reviews to ensure security measures are up to date.
Maintain and monitor SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools and integrate data feeds.
Review Events
Review and triage event and alert data to identify potential security incidents.
Respond to business requests and inquiries regarding security events.
Develop and maintain event response playbooks to ensure consistent and effective handling of security events.
Conduct due diligence and respond to third-party security assessments.
Respond to Incidents
Assist in maintaining the Cyber Incident Response Plan (CIRP).
Use existing security tools to support the containment and mitigation of security incidents.
Help maintain the organization’s incident log, ensuring accurate and timely recording of incidents.
Ensure adequate notification and communication during and after security incidents to relevant stakeholders.
Shared Responsibilities
Execute relevant processes, while making proactive recommendations on ways to improve policies and processes.
Draft your Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) on a quarterly basis and report on progress on an ongoing basis.
Actively contribute to and manage the creation of team documentation; facilitate knowledge sharing among the team and with other support groups.
Assist with external and internal audits and reports by gathering evidence.
Security Operations Competencies
Proficiency in using SIEM tools for security event monitoring and analysis.
Ability to identify, triage, and escalate potential security incidents.
Knowledge of threat intelligence gathering and analysis.
Skills in conducting risk assessments and vulnerability analyses.
Familiarity with compliance requirements and audit processes.
Core Competencies
Grasp core security concepts.
Identify, assess, and document security risks.
Ability to write processes and general documentation.
Maintain a services mindset, prioritizing customer service and user experience.
Analyse and interpret security metrics.
Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with security threats and trends.
