We’re seeking a strategic, hands-on Head of DEIB & Wellbeing who brings experience, energy and a proven track record of delivering initiatives that create a positive and inclusive work environment.

As the Head of DEIB & Wellbeing for Zurich Insurance Group, your goal will be to lead the evolution and delivery of the Group’s DEIB & Wellbeing strategy, to enable us to deliver our strategy and People Sustainability aspiration. Working with colleagues globally, you will establish minimum global standards, robust metrics, and success measures to ensure we achieve our targets. You will embed DEIB and wellbeing at the heart of the employee experience, so people can be advocates and Zurich is recognized for its efforts and achievements. Ultimately, your work will positively impact our customers’ experiences.
What you will do
- Strategy Development and Implementation: Drive, implement, and evolve the Group DEIB & Wellbeing strategy, ensuring alignment with our decentralized organizational structure, and integration into people practices and business outcomes, to support our achievement of Zurich’s strategy.
- Global Alignment and Standards: Align globally on a unified DEIB and wellbeing narrative. Build on the benefits of a holistic approach and shared goals. Define and integrate minimum standards into core people practices, and track KPIs and success measures.
- Industry Trends and External Recognition: Stay updated on industry trends and legislation, lead external awards and certification strategies, and maintain relationships with external partners to support strategic DEIB & wellbeing efforts.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Network Leadership: Strengthen strategic alignment with ERGs, collaborate with key allies, senior leaders and Communities of Practices across the Group, and contribute to the Group's Annual Report and external web presence linked to DEIB & Wellbeing.
- Corporate Center Activities: Translate the DEIB & Wellbeing strategy into concrete activities at the Corporate Center (25% of the role), ensuring effective delivery of initiatives, engage with local stakeholders, and measure and report on outcomes to senior leadership.
What you bring
- Experience: Demonstrated experience (at least 7+ years) in developing & implementing DEIB strategies and addressing challenges with innovative solutions and strategic thinking.
- Relationship Building: Successful experience in building relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels, in a complex and evolving environment.
- Hands-on Execution: Skilled at hands-on delivery and able to act as a proactive, roll-up-your-sleeves leader.
- Communication Skills: Collaborative, curious and creative with excellent communication skills and ability to frame strategic efforts and outcomes effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Data Savvy: Analytical and able to aggregate research, data and trends to set meaningful KPIs and outcomes-oriented progress measures.
- Passion: A genuine passion to embed inclusivity in everything we do and create a work environment in which all employees can thrive.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English required, plus fluency in German or another EU language is an advantage.
