Job Purpose
The Accounting Manager – Financial Reporting is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the accurate preparation, analysis and submission of statutory financial reports across several jurisdictions, with the key regions being Switzerland, Luxembourg and the UK. The Accounting Manager will also assist the Head of Group Reporting with the accounting assessment of significant and unusual transactions.
This role plays a critical part in upholding the integrity of the company’s financial statements, supporting external audits and ensuring the financial statements accurately reflect the Group’s transfer-pricing policies and tax-planning strategies.
The ideal candidate is collaborative, detail-oriented, experienced in financial reporting standards (some, if not all, of US, Swiss and Luxembourg GAAP and IFRS) with a demonstrated ability to manage complex reporting processes within tight deadlines and coordination with the Tax, Legal and Treasury functions.
This role reports into the Head of Group Reporting in Zug, Switzerland and manages a team of 3 based in Manilla, Phillipines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and finalisation of complex head office statutory financial statements, ensuring compliance with local GAAP and timely submission in accordance with statutory deadlines.
- Oversee reconciliation and analyses to validate the accuracy of statutory financial reports.
- Ensure complex transactions are appropriately accounted and reflected in the financial statements, including intercompany charges and royalties, debt refinancings, functional currency redenomination, corporate restructurings and hedge accounting for derivative instruments.
- Prepare materials in connection with director’s review and approval of annual accounts.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external audits, ensuring efficient coordination and resolution of audit issues.
- Collaborate with teams across different departments including Tax, Treasury, Legal and FP&A, to ensure alignment on statutory reporting matters and tax/cash flow optimization of the Group structure.
- Communicate effectively with external stakeholders including auditors, advisors and regulatory bodies.
- Supervise a team of 3.
- Provide other ad-hoc support to the Head of Group Reporting to assist the group in meeting their goals.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in financial reporting, statutory accounting, or in a related field within a corporate or audit environment
- Strong knowledge of some, but not all, of Swiss and Luxembourg GAAP, as well as IFRS/US GAAP.
- Experience with financial reporting software and ERP systems (i.e. Dynamics 365, Oracle FCCS) preferred
- In-depth understanding of financial reporting principles
- Dynamic, hands-on, proactive, self-starter.
- Strong team player.
- Attention to detail focused.
- Ability to work in an international environment.
- Strong communication skills, with an ability to communicate complex financial information to a wide group of stakeholders
- Fluent in English.
