Financial administrator NCCR Microbiomes
The University of Lausanne and the Department of Fundamental Microbiology are the Leading House of the National Centre in Competence Research Microbiomes. Together with the Co-Leading house ETH-Zürich, the NCCR Microbiomes spearheads research in the functioning of microbiomes for human, animal and plant health, the environment and engineering processes.
The NCCR Microbiomes is hosting 25 participating research teams from within Switzerland, and unites with further excellence initiatives abroad. Important ties are forged between the NCCR, industries and societal stakeholders involved in microbiome research.
For its management office, the NCCR Microbiomes is looking for a financial administrator.
Starting date : January 1, 2025 or by arrangement
Length of contract : 4 years, with renewal possibilities
Work percentage : 70-100% (to be discussed)
Workplace : University of Lausanne, Switzerland
Job assignment : Secrétaire d’unité
You will be responsible for the financial management of the NCCR Microbiomes, in particular the financial reporting, accounting and spending, in agreement with NCCR directors and research project leaders, and according to the rules and time-lines set in place by the Swiss National Science Foundation. For this you will closely work together with the responsible financial services of the home institution(s) and partner universities of the NCCR, as well as the SNSF finance service.
You will further collaborate on the organisation of general administrative tasks for the NCCR, such as preparing dossiers for visiting scientists, contacting and reserving meeting venues, and maintaining the database of NCCR collaborators.
This job will demand flexibility during periods of annual reporting for the SNSF.
• CFC d’employé de commerce or equivalent
• Experience in financial accounting and administration, preferably of multipartner constellations in the Swiss scientific landscape
• Fluent in French and English : oral and writing
• Good knowledge of German
• Excellent knowledge of typical administration software such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint
• Excellent competences in communication and project realisation
• Good experience and understanding of general project administration and event organisation
• Excellent quality of work, collaborative spirit, self-initiatives, open mindedness and capacity to work under deadline pressure
