JOB DIMENSIONS & SCOPE
AFEMEA BG has a turnover of approx €3.5bn, with 7 Business Units and 49 sites in 21 countries across Europe. The role reports to the BG FP&A Director for whom this person will be undertaking a significant amount of their work. The position provides exposure to each Business Unit (BU) the Business Group (BG) leadership as well as the Corporate Group Reporting, Planning & Analysis team.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• BG Finance team providing insight and analysis to drive the value and success of the business.
• Supports BU Controllers by setting standards and running efficient processes supporting decision making and outcomes (e.g. weekly meetings, process development and standardization projects across all BU’s)
• Drives continuous improvement opportunities across BU’s, building on prior learnings, as well as incorporating new requirements
• Ensures consistency, development, automation and maintenance of month-end tools (MMR, Sales & EBIT bridges)
• Coordinates the annual Operating Plan (Forecast & Budget), releases budget instructions, provides templates
• Maintains BG specific policies, guidelines and reporting templates and ensures consistent approach to training and on boarding of existing and new members across the BGs finance community
• Organizes training for the BG finance community related to management reporting processes
• Leads the insurance renewal process
• Leads the MHOC Rate calculation process
• Tracks the restructuring and redundancy plans across the BG and in collaboration with HR
• Sets the BG balance sheet review agenda and develop clear guidelines to standardize reviews and follow-up actions
• Supporting BUs in monthly reporting, budgeting/forecasting processes.
• Compiling the BG’s consolidated results and preparing the monthly management report (MMR) for the BG Management
• To assist BU Controllers in developing and delivering projects or routine activities on an ad hoc basis
• To work alongside the commercial and operations teams and across the BG and BU to ensure the development and understanding of plant, product and customer profitability on a consistent basis
• Line manager of the BG Finance Analyst with responsibility to lead, coach and develop junior talent and delegate tasks as and if required to meet the above accountabilities as a team
• To be a part of cross functional projects where there is a requirement.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Formal Qualifications and Experience
• University degree with specialisation in Finance (e.g. accounting, controlling, business administration)
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Finance leadership role within a manufacturing environment
• A reasonable knowledge of IFRS/US GAAP to help plants on an ad hoc basis
• A fair working knowledge of the requisites of a good internal control environment of a public entity, ideally based on having overseen one
• Good IT skills, in particular a good working knowledge of HFM, and MS Office; experience of various ERP systems useful when working with plants and experience of working with various databases will be useful
Specific Skills and Abilities
• Good interpersonal skills will be needed to work alongside Group, BG, BU and plant staff influencing, prioritising, helping, on-boarding & training and chasing as required
• Time management will be valuable as the role is under constant pressure to deliver in a number of areas, need to be able to prioritise, communicate and deliver on key issues
• Ability to communicate at multiple levels in the organisation will be important
• Fluent English is expected and other languages useful .
