The Scientist will join the Translational Research (TR) team within the Oncology Therapeutic Area to drive functional and molecular testing to support the clinical development of Janssen’s pipeline projects, including exploration of mechanisms of action and resistance, identification of pharmacodynamic markers and rational therapeutic combinations and regimens. The position resides in a highly interactive team, hence collaborative spirit, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong interpersonal skills are necessary.

The Translational Research scientist will support multiple Cell Therapy projects within the Oncology TR group, including clinical programs, early Translational Research projects, and disease area stronghold specific collaborations across heme and solid tumor indications.

The scientist will:

• Execute biomarker lab testing and communicate with external functional groups to deliver on the scientific support for biomarker goals and objectives of Cell Therapy programs.
• Work independently and in collaboration with other TR team members to align on experimental plans and timelines.
• Guide meetings to review new data packages and communicate to the leaders of the TR group as well as senior managers across the organization.
• Communicate results in meetings, through technical reports, ELN entries, and other means of standard Janssen communication.
• I mplement Cell Therapy projects within the laboratory. This includes planning and execution of preclinical and clinical experimental projects and communicating these findings through internal and external meetings, publications, technical reports, and standard documentation.
