CFD Specialist

As a CFD Specialist you’ll play a vital role in designing one-of-a-kind superyachts.

Here’s what you’ll do:

• Analyse fluid dynamics using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software. This will impact the yacht’s interior, exterior, and mechanical engineering.
• Help optimize the yacht’s hull shape, resistance, fittings, and more using CFD.
• Analyse wind and weather impact on the yacht.
• Simulate helicopter landings and ensure passenger comfort.
• Collaborate with the Naval Architect to provide crucial design info.
• Manage CFD tasks across multiple projects.
• Mentor junior CFD colleagues and potentially intern supervisors.
• Maintain connections with external agencies.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest CFD advancements.

We’re looking for someone with:

• A PhD or relevant Master’s degree in a field related to CFD.
• A strong understanding of physics, math, and numerical fluid dynamics modelling.
• 4+ years of experience in shipbuilding or yacht construction (preferred).
• Experience with CFD simulations and software, especially Star-CCM+ (or FINETM/Marine).
• Excellent written and spoken English (required). Dutch is a plus.
• 3D modelling software experience (e.g. NX) is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong planning, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities.
• Independence, proactiveness, and analytical thinking.
