Aftermarket Manager – Compressed Gas
Salary: $90,000 – $125,000 (Negotiable)
Location: Albany, NY (Relocation assistance available)
Overview:
As the Aftermarket Manager, you will oversee the entire Aftermarket business, including parts, repairs, upgrades, and service for compression products, ensuring both profitability and customer satisfaction. Aligned with divisional targets, you will lead a diverse team of engineers, specialists, and service technicians to collaborate with our customers, delivering value-based services to help them achieve their operational goals.

- Demonstrate high creativity and dynamism, as this role requires a strong future-oriented focus to establish a solid foundation for the continued growth of Gas and Process products.
- Possess extensive experience and proven success in negotiation.
- Exhibit strong leadership skills, capable of driving high team performance.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of delivering results in the Aftermarket business.
- Have proven experience in developing a successful, well-motivated organization.
- Hands-on field experience is a plus.
- A university degree is preferred.
- Relevant equivalent work experience will be considered for exceptional candidates
- Must be physically capable of traveling by car and plane for business meetings, fieldwork, or training, including international travel as needed.
- Essential physical tasks include occasional reaching, bending, and lifting of items weighing up to 10 pounds (such as a computer case).
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a proven track record of delivering results in the Aftermarket business.
- Have proven experience in developing a successful, well-motivated organization.
- Hands-on field experience is a plus.
Aftermarket Responsibilities:
- Drive operational excellence by promoting a culture of continuous improvement across all teams and individuals.
- Focus on delivery precision, quick response to customer needs, and efficient processes to achieve sustainable and profitable results.
- Manage the Gas and Process division’s Aftermarket Department to meet or exceed yearly targets.
- Create Product Master Specifications for new aftermarket products to encourage growth and reduce the CO2 footprint.
- Oversee regional service centers in their aftermarket business development for equipment/products.
- Keep an eye on outstanding quotes and track customer and service ratios for equipment.
- Provide full support to regions to help them grow the aftermarket business.
- Set policies, pricing, and rates for service, parts, and repairs in line with the aftermarket strategy.
- Handle customer claims negotiations as needed.
- Work with other departments to solve customers’ technical problems.
- Monitor and fix quality issues with the responsible internal teams, ensuring customer satisfaction and implementing long-term solutions.
Management Responsibilities:
- Promote a “safety first” culture, making sure everyone follows safety rules, regulations, and OSHA requirements.
- Focus on developing employees by building their skills and increasing their competency.
- Use emotional intelligence to encourage collaboration, problem-solving, dispute resolution, and team motivation.
- Communicate effectively and regularly give and receive feedback. Promote and improve diversity within the department.
- Keep the General Manager informed about technical and business risks, and suggest ways to mitigate or eliminate them.
- Participate in Company Review Meetings.
- Identify areas where processes can be improved, then design, implement, and execute the necessary changes.
- Follow ISO-9001, 14001, 45001, and 50001 programs.
- Contribute to the company’s direction, vision, and strategy within your team.
- Take on special assignments from the General Manager.
Support Responsibilities:
- Offer training and technical support to the Aftermarket regions as needed.
- Work closely with the global GAP Aftermarket team and coordinate operationally with the VP Aftermarket for the Division.
- Identify market needs and trends to support and promote the Divisional Aftermarket strategy for turbomachinery
Preferred requirements:
- Centrifugal compressor experience (PM’s/rebuilds/repairs)
- Experience within the compression industry
