 I&E (Instrumentation & Electrical) Technician-Mapleton, IL

Arxada is looking for an I&E (Instrumentation & Electrical) Technician to be responsible for the support of field instrumentation, gas monitoring systems, and general electrical systems up to 480V in our Mapleton, IL location.  The I&E Technician will provide maintenance (preventive and corrective) and troubleshooting of process control instrumentation and electrical systems.

Essential Job Functions:

• Final control element inspection and troubleshooting, repair and rebuild, replacement, installation, mechanical repair, calibration, and stroke testing.
• Motor & motor control troubleshooting & replacement.
• Commissioning and startup activities including, instrument loop inspection, loop check, configuration, calibration, and testing. Mechanical installation and function checking of final control elements.
• Analytical equipment expertise, troubleshooting, calibration, documentation for both monitoring and supervisory systems (O2, Combustibles, NOx, infrared, conductivity, and gas chromatograph).
• Support and maintenance of I/O hardware for DCS and PLCs based systems.
• Dedication to documentation updates and creation for plant specific maintenance tasks including calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures. Update and follow plants instrument scope P&I and wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, cable scheduling, and instrument lists sheets.
• Adhere to LOTO and MOC procedures.
• All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 4-Year Apprenticeship or associate degree in industrial Instrumentation and Controls or similar field (preferred)

• 5+ years of relevant I&E experience or similar experience.
• Candidates must have familiarity and working knowledge of different low voltage electrical systems, including 120/208V and 277/480V configurations
• Chemical manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Understanding and hands on experience of control valves actuators, positioners, feedback, smart positioners, and solenoids.
• Experience with calibration, configuration, and repair of measurement/control instruments for flow, level, pressure, temperature, and pH.
• Knowledge of electrical motor controls, motor Starters, MCCs, VFD, 480-volt three phase systems.
• Familiar with electrical safety, Arc Flash, and process LOTO.
• Ability to use personal computer software for word processing, spreadsheet, and general business applications.
