Academic Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director the successful candidate will be responsible for the development and promotion of academic programme. The candiate will also be in charge of the running of a few academic programmes as well. The candidate will focus on meeting results, including engaging relevant stakeholders to understand their learning needs, timely development and scheduling of academic programmes, monitoring of ongoing academic programmes and student performance, quality control of educational programmes, attracting new talents among faculty and managing current faculty roster, management of the student information system, and management of their respective part in the accreditation process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for stakeholder engagement of academic programmes
  • Manage the development and promotion of the academic programmes
  • Maintaining academic oversight of the delivery, assessment, and monitoring of the subjects, skills, structure, and content of all programmes.
  • Support the Director, academic staff, and faculty regularly on relevant aspects of programme design, delivery, assessment and monitoring on all programme pathways.
  • Help with the selection of potential teachers, meetings with them, and negotiation of the teaching conditions
  • Drafting Academic calendar and schedule
  • Direct faculty in the development and improvement of their courses
  • Coordination of student and faculty issues regularly
  • Coordinating exams, thesis supervision, student and faculty feedback process, and grades.
  • Assist with the update of student handbooks, programme handbooks, and other academic documents
  • Coordinate the creation and management of student information on the academic online portal
  • Assist with the coordination of internal and external evaluation and accreditation process
  • Provide support during student induction and progression
  • Represent the institution at appropriate admissions, marketing and academic events

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master degree in international relations, political science, international law, international trade and economy, or a related field. PhD or Doctor degree will be preferred.
  • Teaching experience will be an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills in English. Knowledge of French or any other language is an asset
  • Can do attitude, willing to learn, positivity, and a hunger for growth will be valued
  • Ability to communicate with judgement and diplomacy with students and faculty from different cultures
  • Ability to be organized, punctual and, ability to initiate and follow-up would be preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Strong computer skills (including Microsoft Office Suite and database experience)
  • Experience with Moodle, Odoo, and other LMS systems would be preferred
  • Experience and familiarity with academic/training programmes development
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member; cope with workload pressure and deadlines; and work in a results-based environment
  • Knowledge of university-level education system in Switzerland would be preferred
  • Attributes such as being responsible, committed and loyal to the cause of the institution is mandatory
