Senior R&D Engineer
The Senior R&D Engineer collaborates closely with the Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams by supporting with technical knowledge and competencies.
The position has a strong bias towards laboratory testing, comprising the adaptation of test methods and equipment to a given project scope, testing of prototypes concurrently with product design iterations, execution of formal design verification campaigns and participating in design and planning meetings frequently involving other Dentsply Sirona R&D sites in the US and Germany.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participates in R&D Projects for New Product Development, Core Business Engineering and MDD / MDR remediation projects for the Endodontics Solutions BU in collaboration with key project stakeholders.
- Responsible for the development of new medical devices in conformance with applicable international standards as well as with the Dentsply Sirona new product development procedure.
- Provides scientific and technical expertise related to material science, polymer engineering or chemistry for development projects in a cross functional setting.
- Propose and implement design solutions and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Defines and executes prototype and pre-production testing from protocol to test reports.
- Supports laboratory team by providing chemical and/or material science expertise for testing methods and equipment.
- Submits new and revised controlled Technical Documents into the company wide Electronic Document Management system.
- Contributes to Design FMEAs, identification and implementation of risk mitigation measures.
- Adheres to a multitude of operating procedures and work instructions typical for the highly regulated medical device industry.
Requirements and Qualification:
- You hold at least a Master’s Degree in Material Science or Chemistry and you have some experience in an engineering environment for medical device.
- You have a proven track record of New Product Development and Innovation.
- You have a sound understanding of medical device design control and international standards and you are hands-on in a lab environment in compliance with local Environment, Health and Safety standards.
- You continuously collaborate with project managers, laboratory personnel and other stakeholders in a friendly working environment.
- You are native in English (or at least C1 level verbal and written) and your French level is at least B2.
