About the company
Inter IKEA is a group of companies that connects IKEA retailers with range development and suppliers and aligns the overall IKEA strategic direction. It consists of three Core businesses: Retail concept, Range and Supply.
IKEA Supply is responsible to source, manufacture and distribute IKEA products to the IKEA retailers. This to secure customer availability in all markets and sales channels at lowest total cost.
IKEA Components is one of 7 business units in Supply and is responsible to developing, sourcing, packing and supplying furniture components, furniture materials and IKEA retail equipment, in areas where it benefits IKEA and the IKEA customer. We are approx. 1200 co-workers based in 31 different locations. Three locations are IKEA Components legal sites (Nantong, CN, Malacky, SK, Älmhult, SE) where we also run packaging and distribution production, meanwhile other locations are mainly IKEA Supply Areas and IKEA Industry sites. IKEA Components work on assignment from IKEA Range, IKEA Supply and Retail Concept and are together with more than 2000 business partners aiming towards the wished position “Together in IKEA Components we have significantly increased IKEA competitiveness to be the leader in life at home.”
About the assignment
We are in exiting times where the IKEA Components assignment and the impact on IKEA has grown over the past years. There is a strong strategic need to increase presence towards our many stakeholders within IKEA but also towards IKEA Components partners.
We are looking for a Range & Engineering Development Manager
Range & Engineering Development function is securing excellent performance and progress by establishment of strategic goals and plans to contribute to the overall IKEA vision.
??The function is the development partner to IKEA product development functions within selected product ranges, which leads both new developments as well as maintain and improve existing ranges based on Democratic Design and steer new product development towards selected standard and shared solutions.? The function consists of 85 coworkers and managers spread out globally with the majority in Älmhult Sweden.
Within this role we see you acting as a strategic and tactical partner to define and enable the overall goals for IKEA Components. You and your team will contribute to the implementation of business strategies, priorities and processes by leading development and implementation across functions and organizations in IKEA.
You will:
- ??Lead the function, Range & Engineering Development, and set the right preconditions for optimal development of both business and people.
- ?In the assignment you will also be responsible to secure long-term relations with important stakeholder with IKEA of Sweden, PDC’s, CBF and IKEA suppliers throughout the Range & Product Development Process (RPDP).
- ??Secure that we lead with the ambition of challenge the existing and always strive towards an optimised business setup for all new developments.
- ???Secure the integration and implementation of IKEA overall directions, strategies as well as IKEA Component’s business plan within the function.
- ?Responsible for the business & action plan within Range & Engineering Development in terms of creation, prioritisation, deliverables and follow-up.
- ?Responsible for the material agenda within the scope of Climate.
- ?Be a part of IKEA Components management team and by that contribute to the overall development of the company.
About you
??You have very good knowledge of IKEA Strategic Landscape and understanding of IKEA Business Model, supply chain, processes, and organization.
You dare to think differently, and you have an agile approach and adapt as you go. You are interested in finding new ways of working and are highly motivated to do this by leading our business agenda through people and collaborate and interact with many different stakeholders, creating new relations and networks.
You have some kind of engineering background with a strong business mindset and understanding.
You are senior in your leadership with the ability to communicate verbally, visually and in writing in an inspirational way with IKEA tone of voice. Furthermore, you have a high professional integrity and an ability to plan and handle multiple topics and changing priorities and deadlines.
