Virtualization Engineer - VMware / Storage - Netapp / Pure - RM Group AG
Virtualization Engineer vacancy requiring profound VMware, Netapp and Pure knowledge for a globally operating Basel based company in the financial sector.
Your tasks:
- Designing, implementing, and managing virtualized environments using VMware, Hyper-V, or similar technologies
- Monitoring and maintaining the health, performance, and capacity of virtual infrastructure
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to virtualization, networking, and storage
- Performing regular backups, disaster recovery planning, and testing
- Collaborating with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of virtualized systems
- Developing and maintaining documentation for processes, procedures, and configurations
Your experience/knowledge:
- 5+ years of experience in developing, maintaining, and operating resilient virtualization platforms using VMware technology, including active-active infrastructure setups
- Extensive knowledge of storage, network, and compute within enterprise virtualization
- Skilled in managing large virtual environments with over 50 ESXi hosts
- Proven expertise in converged infrastructure, software-defined networking, and software-defined storage technologies
- Proficiency with NetApp and Pure Storage systems, with a comprehensive understanding of data center technologies, requirements, and processes
- Experience with SAN block storage or other advanced storage systems
Your soft skills:
- Enthusiastic and proactive personality with strong communication and teamwork skills
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work under pressure
