Vibrational, Thermal and Radiative Mechanics for Space Structures
Working in collaboration with our mechanical and electrical engineering departments, you will have the opportunity to take part in the development of a lunar rover, supporting the design process by providing insights through simulations of mechanical, thermal and radiative structures.
Your profile:
- You are a theoretical physicist engineer or analytical mechanical engineer with a pronounced taste for mathematics, applied physics and finite element simulation.
- You have excellent knowledge of structural analysis using FEM (ideally ABAQUS or equivalent) and can use a FEM simulation application for non-linear structural analysis. You are able to implement your own custom sub-routines in C or C++.
- You are interested in optimizing mechanical, thermal and radiative structures by analytical calculation.
- You are capable of solving systems of differential equations with partial derivatives and complex boundary conditions.
