Talent Development Manager (Apprentices & Returners)
The Talent Development Manager (Apprentices & Returners) will contribute towards the team strategic priorities by managing the end-to-end process of our apprenticeship and alternative pipelines talent, working in partnership with the recruitment teams to screen, and assess candidates plus manage and design their onboarding and on-going development.
Specific Responsibilities
Programme Management:
- Develop a strategy and manage the end-to-end cycle for apprenticeships and returner programmes.
- Review and refresh induction and on-boarding processes as required.
- Work with key stakeholders in the business to plan and run training for individuals on the programmes and their managers.
- Oversee the collation of feedback for apprentices and returners on at least a quarterly basis with the support of the team administrator, taking appropriate action as required.
- Act as the point of contact for successful candidates during on-boarding and tenure on programmes.
- Provide pastoral care and development support to all individuals on the various programmes and act as liaison between them and the business stakeholders.
- Identify and recommend ways to better utilize the apprenticeship levy eg. Build out the training offered via the apprenticeship levy.
- Collaborate on the design, and implementation of a global work experience programme with colleagues and regional contacts.
- Design and implement new programmes as the need arises.
- Propose and manage the budget for programmes.
Diversity Outreach:
- Identify and utilise avenues to attract diversity within candidate pools.
- Establish and maintain relationships with diversity partners.
- Work with internal social mobility workstream to drive forward initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with the Global People Team colleagues, DE&I steering group and other working groups on a forward-looking DE&I agenda.
Other:
- Ad hoc projects as and where required
Technical Competencies
- At least 3+ years relevant experience within HR or a training provider managing or supporting early careers and or career switchers/returners
- Experience of managing a budget and knowledge of the apprenticeship levy
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong stakeholder management - uses initiative and is pro-active and can evidence that they can respond quickly to changing business needs
- Able to build strong relationships across the Business at all levels and also with external organisations
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to demonstrate strong project management skills
- Experience working in a complex and fast-paced environment would be beneficial
- Some knowledge or interest in Learning & Development would be beneficial
