Software Engineering Intern with focus on Reliability Engineering 80 - 100% (f/m/d)
The opportunity
The energy landscape is rapidly changing, requiring power distribution systems of increasing complexity to be resilient and highly reliable. This creates the need for the development of advanced algorithms and tools for reliability engineering.
The Semiconductor Packaging and Reliability Engineering research team at the Central European Hitachi Energy Research Center is looking for an intern with software engineering experience to contribute to our reliability engineering software initiatives. The intern will interact with a dynamic and multidisciplinary team that will supervise and guide the project.

How you’ll make an impact
Improve and enhance our in-house system reliability analysis software
Assist in developing and applying novel statistical and mathematical models for reliability analysis
Engage in data science projects when needed, allowing you to develop and apply your data science skills in real-world scenarios
Document and communicate solutions developed to ensure knowledge transfer within the research team, academic collaborators, and relevant business units
Your background
Currently pursuing a M.Sc. degree in engineering, computer science, physics, applied mathematics, or a related discipline (official enrolment is essential)
Strong programming skills (preferably Python) and knowledge of best practices for code development
Experience with or interest in data science
Experience with software version control (e.g., Git) is advantageous
Familiarity with statistics and/or reliability engineering is beneficial
Fluency in written and spoken English
Good communication and technical writing skills
Creative and able to work autonomously
