The Center for Experimental Neurology (ZEN) is a unique translational research center in the Department of Neurology at the Inselspital University Hospital Bern, Switzerland. The ZEN fosters strong collaborations between clinical and experimental laboratories with long-standing expertise in sleep, epilepsy and stroke.
To further strengthen our group, we are seeking for a motivated candidate to be part of our translational research program. Our research goal aims to develop translational solution (software, etc.) to identify novel sleep biomarkers and new insomnia drugs.

Tasks
Candidate will be required to work with large amounts of data related to signal and image processing (EEG, calcium imaging), and must be capable of developing efficient and scalable computational solutions to process and analyze these data.
Requirements
- Master in engineering or computer science.
- High motivation and interest in neuroscience, neuro-engineering
- Strong programming and data processing skills in Matlab and Python Spike, python, etc)
- Experience with signal and image processing and analysis is recommended (e.g., EEG, Sleep, advance filtering, wavelet-base transform analysis, semi-automatic correction, interpolation, component analysis, refereeing strategies, waveform analysis, close-loop systems and protocols).
- Experience with developing machine learning models in PyTorch or Tensorflow
- Experience in research.
- Solid communications skills in English
- Understanding of statistical tools is an asset
- Strong background in statistics and data analysis.
