IT- Senior Systems Engineer -2nd Line Support (L2)
IT- Senior Systems Engineer plays key role in supporting IT infrastructure of GTT.
This position requires wide and overall knowledge in windows client/server architecture, administration of Office 365 exchange, DFS Support, local area networking and basic knowledge of firewall, switch and router, Client OS- Win 10, Mac 10.6.8/7 in enterprise environment, Linux and PowerShell scripting (but not limited to them).
Successful candidates may be required to perform on-call duty on rotational bases and support 24/7 on shifts.
While his/her primary role is end user computing support, S/he will be also occasionally required to take active role in implementing new systems, diagnosis of IT problems outside their scope of responsibility. Supervision and assistance by management / senior engineer are provided remotely most of the time, thus successful candidate will be required have a broad range of knowledge and experience.
Description of Essential Functions
Should have strong OS administration skills on windows client/server architecture. Strong knowledge in administration of Office 365 exchange server. Should have knowledge in administration of DFS. Experience in OS installation, software, patch management, PowerShell scripting. Application installation, maintenance, documentation and support. Network maintenance, documentation and support Experience working with Microsoft server and client operating systems, Linux operating systems, system administration, and system security experience. Network and server performance monitoring and analysis. Server and Application security maintenance and review. Ensure redundancy and stability for all critical systems. Escalate/communicate issues and concerns as necessary. Ensure data protection and recoverability for all supported systems. Experience with enterprise level anti-virus, intrusion detection, SPAM control and similar core systems control products. Linux Server (RedHat, CentOS) as well as postfix/send mail/MySQL skills preferred.
Skills
- Strong experiences in installation and configuration of Windows servers and AD network, experiences in installation of Windows on client OS, win 10, Mac 10.6.8/7 in enterprise environment, as well as the support experience and knowledge of MCP/ CCNA level knowledge on client OS is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of LAN/WAN (Ethernet TCP/IT etc.) and related experience (mandatory). CCNA-level knowledge is preferred.
- As well as the support experience and knowledge of MS Office 16/19 (mandatory).
- Remote user support experience, technician/operator experience with server hardware support experience.
