Working as a Senior Project Manager, you will be reporting to the Project Management Office Group. A crucial part of your role is to oversee the execution of medium-size and/or complex to large system projects to our customers in Mining, Aluminum and Cement industries worldwide, leading the project team, establishing the approach and overseeing hand-over, planning, monitoring and control activities.In this role, you will maintain and enhance customer satisfaction by ensuring that all related activities are performed in accordance with contractual agreements and schedule commitments while also in line with ABB Policy and requirements, according to established processes and best practices, as well as guiding, coaching, and developing the skills and knowledge of the project team.This role may include supporting the local management in overseeing team development and process improvement to continually increase the effectiveness of project execution. In addition, this role carries accountability for a portfolio of projects. Your main responsibilities will be:• Overseeing entire project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with contract and cybersecurity requirements.• Monitoring and improving project planning, cost control, resource efficiency, quality, and HSE practices. Additionally, cultivating solid stakeholder relationships through effective communication, serving as the primary customer contact.• Analyzing project risks and opportunities, driving recovery efforts, and sharing lessons learned.• Collaborating with contract management, supporting sales and tendering, and mentoring less experienced Project Managers.
- More than 10 years of experience in the field of Project Management, ideally in mining, Oil & Gas or other heavy industries with global exposure.
- Demonstrated experience in management of project scope, cost, schedules and vendors/subcontractors as well as sound knowledge of common project management processes, tools and techniques.
- A collaborative, solution-focused approach, with Management experience in project execution, with strong, well-developed communication, influencing and coaching skills.
- A degree (FH, university), ideally in the areas of electrical or mechanical engineering, additional background in economic disciplines is an advantage.
- PMP® credential is an asset.
- Fluency in English is a must, fluency in German and/or Spanish is an asset. Other languages are of advantage.
