Are you interested in marketing, digitalization, social media and scientific work? Do you want to research cutting-edge topics at the intersection of marketing theory and practice and generate new knowledge? Are you excited about the insights that firms can get from analysing structured and unstructured data? Then we are your perfect fit! We are a young and highly motivated team (chair: Prof. Dr. Leif Brandes) with a main research focus on quantitative marketing. We undertake a variety of ambitious research projects in cooperation with top international universities (e.g., John Hopkins University or Oxford University).

Responsibilities

• You will be part of a recently funded scientific project from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) in the field of consumer online reviews. Your key task is to conduct empirical research related to the field of this project.
• Other tasks include general scientific and administrative activities related to your position at the University of Lucerne.

Requirements

• An above-average degree in machine learning, or data science.
• Excellent data analysis skills (deep learning, in particular text and image classification skills)
• Strong interest and passion for scientific questions related to marketing and marketing analytics.
• A high level of personal initiative and goal orientation
• Excellent command of written and spoken English (speaking German is a plus, but not a strong requirement)
• A strong attention to detail and high-quality focus
