As a Public Affairs Leader you are part of our Communication function and will play a pivotal role in positioning IKEA as a meaningful and trusted partner amongst relevant stakeholders. This role serves as the country lead and focal point for Public Affairs, driving the strategic positioning of the IKEA brand in alignment with our global objectives.
To be successful we see that you bring:
• Passion for Public Affairs: You bring a deep enthusiasm for Public Affairs coupled with a strong understanding of Corporate Communication and Public Relations.
• Swiss Market Expertise: A comprehensive knowledge of the Swiss economic and political landscape, including familiarity with trade associations, is essential.
• Strategic Insight: Demonstrated experience in leveraging insights to shape Public Affairs and communication strategies that support the company’s sustainability and commercial goals.
• External Communication Mastery: Extensive experience in external communications with exceptional interpersonal, networking, and communication skills, enabling you to build and sustain strategic, trust-based relationships within other businesses, political, policy, or NGO environments.
• Leadership & Initiative: Ability to work autonomously, initiate, and execute projects while leading cross-functional teams effectively.
• Additional Skills: Proficiency in project management, and language skills in both German and English are highly desirable. Presentation skills and the ability to represent IKEA confidently in various forums are crucial.
• Interpersonal Excellence: Strong people skills with a leadership mindset, capable of driving change and achieving business objectives with key target audiences in focus.
Your responsibilities
The position as Public Afffairs Leader is responsible for leading the development and delivery of the market Public Affairs strategy and agenda, aligning with global Ingka Public Affairs plan.
The key responsibilities are:
• Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and execution of the market Public Affairs strategy, ensuring alignment with the global Ingka Public Affairs plan.
• Regulatory Monitoring: Stay up-to date of relevant regulatory and non-regulatory developments in the Swiss market, incorporating insights into ongoing strategy refinement.
• Advocacy and Engagement: Champion the cause of creating a positive societal impact, engaging both internal and external stakeholders across all IKEA departments.
• Market Positioning: Drive the overall positioning initiatives within the market, integrating seamlessly with the communications department and contributing to comprehensive 360-degree campaigns.
