Postdoctoral Scientist – AI/ML Bioimage Analysis
Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine R&D Data Science & Digital Health organization is recruiting for a Postdoctoral Scientist – AI/ML Bioimage Analysis (m/f/d) to join the Data Science Analytics & Insights team to help advance AI/ML Analytics for Drug Discovery.
The locations considered are Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, UK and USA, but exceptionally skilled candidates may be considered for remote work from anywhere in the world, with up to 10% travel.
This is a 2 year fixed term contract.

The Data Science Analytics & Insights team develops innovative solutions using a variety of data sources across multiple different disease areas, encompassing oncology, cardiovascular and metabolic disorders, immunology, neuroscience, and infectious disease. We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative Postdoctoral Fellow who will work at the intersection of AI/ML, Computer Vision/Bioimaging, Multi-task Prediction and Molecule Design.
Key responsibilities:
- Conceive, develop, and implement AI/ML solutions applied to drug discovery problems, including but not limited to, processing and analysis of large-scale imaging and assay data (e.g. high content imaging, cryogenic electron microscopy, tissue imaging, and medical imaging), molecule property predictions, and AI-based optimization
- Contribute to design of analysis plan and technical execution of a project, and execute end-to-end analyses, including progress reports and high-quality code documentation
- Work closely with a cross disciplinary team of data and AI scientists, imaging experts, biologists, and computational chemists, and leverages cross-domain expertise to contribute to a rigorous scientific evidence package strategically aligned with molecule development cycle
- Extensive hands-on coding and actively contribute to platform development
- Document and disseminate research findings internally and externally (e.g.- publishing in top-tier ML conferences/journals)
