For our client we are looking for a

NGS Lab Specialist

Your Challenges:

  • (NGS) RNA library preparation and its quality control and quantification (e.g. qPCR and automated electrophoresis)
  • Operate specialized instruments (FluidFM Omnium, qPCR, Bioanalyzer, etc.)
  • Track accurate and detailed records of experimental procedures and results (Electronic Lab Notebook) and ensure reliability and quality of the RNA-seq library preparation pipeline
  • Collaborate with the development team to continuously improve the library preparation pipeline and define standard operating procedures
  • Support in planning experimental activities

Your profile:

  • Profound knowledge about molecular biology techniques (RNA extraction and enrichment, PCR, qPCR, capillary electrophoresis, etc.)
  • Work experience with single cell RNA-seq, preferably with low-input RNA-seq protocols such as SMART-seq, FLASH-seq or other commercial kits (library preparation and processing)
  • Experience in laboratory housekeeping procedures, including maintaining inventory and equipment, ordering supplies and preparing stock solutions
  • You are attentive to detail and able to work with precious samples and delicate protocols
  • You enjoy being part of a collaborative team and have a hands-on and problem-solving approach
  • You bring organizational and time management skills and like to work independently
  • Completed apprenticeship as laboratory technician with specialization in biology, or alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry or a related field
  • Good communication skills in English are a must, German is desirable
