Scope of Role:
This role reports directly to the Senior Finance Director, Cardiovascular & Specialty Solutions (CSS) Global End-to-End Supply Chain. The core job purpose is to provide informed financial and business leadership to drive both the short-and long-term strategies for the Mentor End-to-End Supply Chain. Additionally, this role will provide direct business partner support to the Senior Director E2E Supply Chain Leader Mentor Worldwide and will be a prominent member of the Mentor Supply Chain leadership team.
This is a high-visibility and impactful role with significant opportunities to influence the strategy of this market-leading franchise of J&J MedTech! As a member of the platform leadership team this role is responsible for the financial planning, management reporting and financial integrity of the Mentor Supply Chain operations charged with delivering financial counsel & insights to manage risk, improve gross profit / operational performance and drive strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a diverse team of 9 associates (both domestic and international) supporting 2 internal manufacturing sites and a network of global third-party suppliers and distribution operations.
- Develop, adjust, implement, and maintain organizational design that supports global business partners in multiple locations worldwide. This includes recruiting and onboarding of international teams.
- Develop functional goals that are aligned with finance and business unit objectives.
- Provide an environment for professional growth of staff which includes actionable feedback, recognition, and rewards as well as coaching and mentoring in support of the staff development plans and succession planning objectives.
- End-to-End Supply Chain Finance leadership for Mentor managing ~$165MM COGS and ~$25 Capex & ~$125MM Inventory cashflow to enable ~$550MM Global Sales.
- Provide direct finance counsel and leadership support to the Mentor E2E Supply Chain Senior Director, Mentor leadership team, Mentor Global Franchise President, and Commercial Finance Director.
- Partner with the broader Mentor Supply Chain leadership team to formulate & drive strategic imperatives and collaborate with Commercial, R&D, Supply Chain and Corporate functional centers of excellence (Quality, Deliver, Source, Plan, Tax, Treasury) to operate a Global End-to-End Supply Chain structure and deliver on profitability & cashflow targets.
- Orchestrate Gross Profit and Cashflow Improvement across Supply Chain and Commercial by driving the value capture plan and related business cases (e.g., New Product Introductions, Portfolio Life Cycle Management, Manufacturing Excellence / Cost Improvement, Manufacturing Network Strategy / Make vs. Buy, Supplier Reliability, etc.).
- Coordination of core financial planning & reporting cycle consolidation and analysis on both a forecast and actual basis (e.g., Annual Standard Cost Revision, Business Plan, June & November Updates, Latest Thinking, Monthly Closing, Long-Range Financial Plan, Executive S&OP / Integrated Business Planning) to provide performance variance transparency & trend insights, risk mitigation plans as well as project portfolio and headcount funding prioritization across Supply Chain functions and Value Streams.
- Base business improvement to deliver standardization, simplicity and agility for planning and reporting while also driving effectiveness in internal controls.
- Perform external and internal benchmarking to enhance value and shape ERP functional design and simplification as the supply chain network evolves over the long-range horizon.
- Encourage participation and adoption of various J&J Corporate and MedTech Finance culture, process, and technology initiatives.
- Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley controls, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and local statutory compliance standards are fully met for all processes and locations.
