We are looking for a Medical Solutions Lead Rheum/Osteo who has a passion for science, is eager to improve patient health and is excited to join us in our energetic Medical Team Alps. This role, based in Bulle, Switzerland, will cover rheumatology in Switzerland and osteoporosis in both Austria and Switzerland. The position is office-based but involves business travel to internal and external meetings.
About the role
As a Medical Solutions Lead Rheum/Osteo you will establish relationships with internal and external key stakeholders through effective scientific communication. Additionally, you will partner with patient organizations and healthcare organizations to enhance patient care and support. You will collect and analyze insights to identify clinical data gaps in rheumatology and osteoporosis management and develop medical and cross-functional strategies to bridge them. You will coordinate cross-functional workstreams between Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Access teams, leading to the successful launch of UCB products in Switzerland and Austria. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the local adaptation and translation of appropriate scientific content and securing connection with the overarching Mid-Market Team. Related to this you will support to optimize processes for the efficient development of materials and assets for the field.
Who you’ll work with
Reporting to the Medical Lead Rheum Osteo Alps you will be part of a team of 4 colleagues (3 Medical Science Liaison). Together with the Medical Leads, Sales & Solutions Leads and Market Access, you will ensure the highest possible scientific standards in the implementation of the strategy and the tactical execution in Switzerland and Austria.
What you’ll do
Apart from what has been mentioned before:
- Drive the localization and implementation of the medical plan in Switzerland (CH) and Austria (AT) in collaboration with MSLs, Medical, Sales & Solution, and Marketing Solution Leads.
- Leverage scientific inquiry to advance patient solutions, kick-starting medical projects and cultivating evidence generation at the local level.
- Ensure high-value delivery for patients, Sales Representatives, and Payers, adhering to the highest standards of science, ethics, compliance, and quality, with a strong understanding of the local ecosystem in CH and AT.
- Demonstrate strong collaboration skills with all external and internal stakeholders, particularly with the Medical Team, the Market Access Team, the Marketing Solution Leads and the Sales & Solutions Leads.
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
- Master’s degree in life sciences or healthcare required; MD, PharmD, PhD preferred.
- Proficiency in German or French, with a good understanding of the other language, and English is mandatory.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in stakeholder-facing roles within healthcare.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and knowledge of local healthcare compliance and pharma environments in Switzerland and Austria.
- Established relationships with external HCPs, preferred in Rheumatology and Osteoporosis in Switzerland and potentially Austria.
- Team player with a solution-oriented mindset and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strategic thinking and experience in medical plan execution with an affinity for an omnichannel approach.
